Ferals on the rampage!

So, this is what I've been up to over the last few weeks since my last post, and it's been a bit of a grind, to say the least. Batch painting is my least favourite type of painting, it's dull, repetitive and soulless, but I'm over the mountain, and there are just a few details to tidy up, so here you go:

More pics after the cut...

The idea behind these, as I mentioned in a previous post, is that they're the inhabitants of a Feral World that have been supplied with weapons by a group of Arms smugglers/pirates on the run from the Imperial Forces. They've been given the shonky old RT-era lasguns, rather than the shiny new variants, along with helmets and respirators from the ship's hold, and the odd heavy weapon.

This is the heavy-hitting Veteran squad with autoguns, a Shuriken catapult, and a missile launcher. These guys are the ones that took to using weaponry the quickest, and will all be statted up as champions:

The rest of the guys are just basic cannon-fodder, with lasguns, one guy with a shotgun, and one with a lascannon:

Some of these guys don't understand lasguns and respirators as well as the others...

So, I've now got 40 basic troops done, along with the 10 scouts in an earlier photo, which gives me a decent force to play with. Next job is to paint up the ten or so smugglers, a Feral command/liason group, some heavy support and transport options.

Oh, and possibly a feral psyker...

  1. These are excellent, perefct mix of 40k with pulp and all. There's plenty of room to make an excellent feral psyker here, really looking forward to seeing this one.

  2. I concur, batch painting is the pits! But you've got them done now, so you can enjoy gaming with'em!

    Well done :)

  3. Dig it.

Pig Iron kolony (?) heads would be handy for more feral ones.

Severely shamanistic feral psyker would be nice, too. Anyway, these are cool! Very pulpy & just a little surreal.

    1. Rogue Trader 40k, same as all my 40k stuff. The only thing I plan on gaming current edition rules is my Horus Heresy Death Guard.
