++ Battle Report - Incident at Actaia Majora ++

++ JMC Survey/Incident Report - Location - Actaia Majora - Date - 342940.M41 ++

Following an extended delay due to warp storms, the Long Range Survey ship 'Ari Knörr' finally arrived in orbit around our initial target, Actaia Majora. Initial orbital surveys proved disappointing, with no rare elements, profitworthy ores, or potential acquisitions to be made.

Report continues after the break...

However, whilst in orbit, a Rogue Trader hailed us, asking if we had need of hard workers for our mining operations, at a supposedly bargain price. Never wanting to turn away a good slave or a good bargain, we identified a small trading settlement as neutral ground, and set down to discuss terms. It never does any harm to talk to the natives and pick up some local knowledge of the surrounding systems, anyway.

On landing, something appeared seriously awry. The Rogue Trader's entourage had herded all the locals out of sight, and had set up positions on several rooftops, so we did likewise, teleporting our sniper in to a good spot, just in case.

Our lookout got into a good vantage point on the roof, and we advanced slowly toward the meeting point:

First mate, moving up to the centre of the settlement, which was to be our meeting point:

We're not sure what happened next, as at this point the idiot Rogue Trader contacted us over Comm-Link to inform us that the slaves had 'unfortunately escaped'. Trust a noble not to know how to secure live cargo. Anyway, at this point, all hell broke loose. We're not sure who fired first, but lasguns and bolt shells started flying left, right and centre:

Our sniper took a hit, and got pinned down in the crossfire, whilst for some reason the Rogue Trader and his sergeant continued to advance on our location.

Most of the gunfire came from this rooftop, where some blokes in daft hats kept attempting to keep us pinned down.

At this point, our captain decided it was time to head over and give the noble a good old fashioned kicking, for wasting our time and taking pot-shots at us.

A quick shot took down their sergeant, and the Cap'n headed over to the woods, that the cowardly Rogue Trader had decided to hide in. Unbeknownst to him, we had a bio-scanner, so his hiding behind the tree was both futile and amusing:

The stand-off continued on the other side of the settlement, with the occasional hit, but no major injuries:

Just as the Cap'n was about to close on the Rogue Trader, that damn sergeant got back up again and charged in to protect his cowardly boss. However, a quick double tap with the plasma pistol sorted him right out.

At this point, just as the Cap'n was about to close with the Rogue Trader, and give him that well deserved kicking, he just turned tail and buggered right off!

In all, we fared well, the locals informed us of a potential target planet in the next system, which we'll head to next, and continue our surveying mission. However, the Cap'n's got a right squig in his bonnet about that 'Trader, and plans to sort him right out next time he sees him...

++ Report Ends++

Or, out of game: Myself and Andy played my first game in our group Inquisimunda campaign recently, which was a fairly quick and simple encounter, with a few hits taken on both sides, before Andy lost his die roll and routed. It was good fun, and our next game is tomorrow.

  2. Funny ending :D

    That Rogue Trader should be ashamed of himself, fleeing at the sight of a squat "running" at him!!!

    Nice quick batrep, cheers.
