More denizens of the Port...

A bit more background to the inhabitants of Port Imperiale, this time. I'd like to introduce you all to Captain Jerry 'Lucky' LaVarr (Retd), owner of Lucky's Bar, with one of his 'liberated' Regimental Killbots, 'Itchy', which serves as his bouncer:

More after the cut...

'Lucky' LaVarr, shown here in his usual attire of his 6th Mordian regimental dress uniform and medals, was a survivor of multiple engagements, including being a survivor of the infamous 'accidental' orbital bombardment of Dsico-VI, (which cost him his right eye), as well as being stranded for two decades with his regiment on the Death-World Oz-III, a time he spent mainly shouting at his dwindling guardsmen, and hunting voracious predators. He described this episode as 'jolly good fun', even though his leg was bitten off by a Ozean Funnel Crab during this period.

As one of the very few Imperial Guardsmen to reach retirement age, he was offered a prestigious (but mandatory) place on the retirement planet of Chel-5EA, only to abscond after six months due to boredom. Making off with two rewired regimental Killbots, (which he named 'Itchy' and 'Scratchy'.), he eventually found himself on Jamakeer, and spent his remaining funds opening a bar, utilising his Killbots as bouncers to avoid trouble.

Now he lives out his retirement serving drinks and occasionally heading out of town to indulge his passion for hunting. With the Killbots as guards, naturally.

From a modelling point of view, this is genuinely one of my favourite conversions ever, even though I only made him last week. He's an old historical figure I've had in the bits box for years, with a Forgeworld DKoK hat and Elysian Knife, an old RT laspistol, some IG accessories, and some Vic Minis epaulettes. His medals I sculpted on. The Killbot is an old Paranoia modular robot, of which I've another matching one to paint up.
