A quick 2025 Review.

It seems like a bunch of other people are doing this, so thought I'd copy their lead, mostly to reassure myself I did actually get some hobby stuff done this year, as tbh, it's not felt very productive.

As you'll know if you follow my blog, I kind of stopped posting for a couple of years, a combination of hobby burnout, not feeling enthused about posting, and tbh wondering if the blog format was still worthwhile anymore, but I came back in March and decided to make a bit more of an effort.

This big guy was probably the catalyst for all that, as I really enjoyed printing, assembling and painting him:

Anyway, if you want to see more, then take a look after the break...

Altheim Part 11: The Docks

Ok, so, time for a bit more Altheim. I've made a start on the docks area, so these are warehouses in the Dutch style, so narrow and tall, designed to fit side by side facing the docks, with living and working space above the storage area.

First up is the Becker Import Company warehouse, left to dereliction after being sealed up on the orders of the Guard due to irregularities with the quality of fish. Of course, the other story is that Old Man Becker wasn't paying enough in bribes to the Red Hand, a shadowy group of criminals that have high level connections and may or may not be secretly a choas cult...

*Taps Microphone* Is anybody still here?

Ok, I'll be honest, I've neglected this blog for the shiny lights of Facebook groups and Instagram for a while now, but I've come to the conclusion that it's all so transient and impermanent, so I'm thinking about getting back on here and posting a bit more often.

That does, however, beg the question, is anyone still on here? I can post all I like, but if no one actually sees it, I may as well just print out a scrapbook and read it at home!

So, what have I been up to? I've been learning 3d sculpting, printing big things and doing more Altheim buildings mostly, with some ww2 and Trench Crusade in there as well, with a few commissions along the way. I've actually been pretty productive in the last year or so, So here's a few bits I've got done recently:

The D'Oberoc Company, a Nordland Mercenary warband.

So, it's been a bit of a dry spell on the painting front, as summer tends to get in the way of sitting inside all day and painting, but I've finally finished a small(ish) warband project I've been working on occasionally for a while now.

This time it's another project tangentially related to my Altheim project. Altheim is based in Nordland, and so these guys are a small mercenary warband based in Nordland, the D'oberoc Company

Altheim Part 6: Eolfric the Beggar, and his humble home.

Back to Altheim, and this time it's something a whole lot more humble. I recently painted up the 'Beggar' model from the Marauder MM62 range, and decided that even though he's down on his luck, he still needs somewhere to live:

Altheim invaded...

Another small update today, but as I've started on my undead army, I thought I'd put up a few of the undead I've just painted up.

The Altheim Militia face off against their resurrected former comrades.

Warhammer Townscape project update..

Just a short update today, but a bit of a resource for you all, if you need it. As you may know (if you read this regularly) my current main project is to recreate all of the Warhammer Townscape buildings in a more modern way, with textures and detailing. I was just getting to the stage of detailing the gatehouse, and wanted to add some of the little posters that were spread throughout the book. Part of the original charm of the book was all these little details that you could add to make your buildings a bit more unique:

A couple of posters in use. Don't try and sneak past the militia.

To that end (and to make detailing the rest of my buildings a little easier, I've gone through the book and digitally pulled all of the posters and signs out of it onto one sheet. They're just great little details that add to a fantasy building. Hopefully you think the same, and if so, they're here for you to download (after the cut!)

Nothing much to report at the moment, so have some Halflings!

So here's something a little older that I've only just got around to photographing. Ladies and gentlefolk, I give you 'Lil Bandit', the pride of my Halfling ally contingent's Mechanised Infantry, or at least it's the current pride, until the Landship 'Admiral Battenberg' is finally launched (that's been sat on my workbench for several years now!)
