Altheim Part 11: The Docks

Ok, so, time for a bit more Altheim. I've made a start on the docks area, so these are warehouses in the Dutch style, so narrow and tall, designed to fit side by side facing the docks, with living and working space above the storage area.

First up is the Becker Import Company warehouse, left to dereliction after being sealed up on the orders of the Guard due to irregularities with the quality of fish. Of course, the other story is that Old Man Becker wasn't paying enough in bribes to the Red Hand, a shadowy group of criminals that have high level connections and may or may not be secretly a choas cult...

More after the break!

Next up is the Limmarra warehouse. A relatively recent arrival, Avon Limmarra's main business interests are in the Riding further down the river, but they've expanded into Altheim hoping to increase their riches.

Avon Limmarra is an Elven Trader and one of the characters from "The Riding", a scenario booklet that came with the "Blood on the Streets" cardboard buildings pack for 2nd Edition Warhammer Fantasy Battle that some of my Altheim buildings are based on. The last photo shows Avon themselves, but it's such a bloody awful figure with a balloon head that you're not getting a close up as it's that bad!

One side of the building also gets used as an impromptu jobs board for the docks area:

And the infamously terrible Avon model:

The finished buildings, side by side:

And here they are in their unpainted state, along with a couple of others still in need of paint:

Enjoy!

  1. Woop Woop.

Glad to see more Altheim greatness.

I recently got hold of an Avon Limmarra myself and was debating what to do about the fluff for him.
I now know, I will keep him as in the Riding (I love the setting and have the book and am also remaking the Townscape buildings with wood, card, etc).

I will have him in my own setting but I will mention his offices in the Riding and now Altheim!!

    We write our own setting!

  3. I love seeing Altheim develop. Would buildings been boarded up for long? You'd think there would be a lot of pressure to use the space (unless there were some plaguey stuff happening).
