It's Undead time! 1994 GW Zombie Dragon with Lahmian Rider!

So, time for another commission job I've got finished recently, and I really enjoyed painting and converting this one!

On the subject of Necromancers...

It seem I really do have a problem with Necromancers. I found yet another one lurking in the leadpile, and this time he's brought his friends...

How many Necromancers does it take to change a lightbulb?

Six! One to actually change the bulb, and five to stand around a pentagram, chanting into the darkness!

Those Necromancers sure do like pointing at things!

Anyway, in between doing the Altheim project, I've decided to paint up a few of the 'homeless' models I've bought over the years that don't really fit into any particular projects, and the first bag I found was of some wizards, so I thought I'd get a few done to go with a couple I'd already got painted up.

2017 Round up.

Or, in other words, 'Where the hell did the last two months go?'

Looking back at my photos, this is the last thing I painted, all the way back in October:

I did him partially as part of 'Orktober', but mainly as I found him when I was looking for bits for the 'Sleazy Chopper' conversion, and couldn't resist. It's a lovely little model.

Anyway, if you're interested in what else I've been up to, there's more after the break...

Undead reinforcements!

So, once I'd broken the back of those damned Nightmare Legion, I've managed to recently finish off a whole host of half-done models, so here's some photos of the army beginning to take shape (after the cut)

Skeletons! Faarsands of 'em! - RRD2 Nightmare Legion finished!

The Nightmare Legion, in all their glory!

Or, more accurately and not misquoting 'Zulu', one hundred of them, and the Nightmare Legion, to be precise!

These have been sat unfinished on my painting table for well over six months, taking up a huge block of space that could have been used for something more interesting, and so I was determined to get them finally done. Frankly, having a hundred-strong Nightmare Legion regiment was a stupid idea, and it turned into an absolute grind, as with the best will in the world, they're not actually very good models, apart from Mordini and Renzo.

Altheim invaded...

Another small update today, but as I've started on my undead army, I thought I'd put up a few of the undead I've just painted up.

The Altheim Militia face off against their resurrected former comrades.

Something prehistoric from the mists of time...

So, another step in my painting rehabilitation, this is one of the very few models that miraculously escaped the mass purge when I stupidly sold my entire collection in the early 2000's.

The 'Imperial Guard War Mammoth of the Undead Legion', to give it it's full title, was also the first model I ever bought by mail order, as a spotty 14 year old, back in 1986. I bought it after seeing a Grenadier advert in White Dwarf, and sending away their catalogue, eventually receiving the above Blue Box, filled with a weighty amount of Lead.

And since then, it's sat there, in the box, awaiting paint.  For thirty bloody years. I felt this finally had to be rectified, and so now, I have this:
