I thought I'd put up the details for the participation game that Gadge and Andy (Of Tales From The Maelstrom) and myself put together and demo'ed for a Rogue Trader day a few years ago. It's designed from 2-7 players, along with a GM.
Hopefully there's enough info here for anyone to play this game, or one based on it, but here's a few photos of the game in action, to start with:
Setting up the table, and getting ready:
The main opposing forces advance on each other:
Eldar war-droids encounter vicious local fauna:
Governor Kellogs PDF army, preparing to put up a fight:
...and getting one:
If you want to run this game in any way, all the details are after the cut:
Playing the scenario:
Obviously the PDF and the Inquisition are the main two sides, and the game can be played with just these two forces, and the extra sides can be added in as player numbers require. Everyone has their own, competing objectives, so it can make for a fun, complex game. The GM can add as little or as much as they like to the game by adding and controlling any alien Fauna and Flora on the table. They can also control the local native village, as well as the potentially dangerous corral of wild beasts!
The Terrain:
A small research station, with a wheat field and woods surrounded by a battered chain link fence. In the centre of the compound are piles of storage crates. On the surrounding hills are cloud seeders and weather sensors. Some way off from the compound is a small village inhabited by the nativeprimitives with a corral for their domestic beasts.
See map:
Governor Kellog's PDF:
Note: There are three enslavers (all with identical stats), but one must permanently be within 6" of Governor Kellog to keep him under control.
Inquisitor Brand's Expeditionary Force:
Lord Oberon K'Vah's Eldar Slavers:
Zoat Terror Squad:
Kaptin Krn'Ch's Ork Raiders:
Helmut Hammerstein's Squat Mercenaries:
Quinletz's Slann Investigation Team:
So, there you have it, all the info you need to play the scenario. If anyone does play it, I'd love to see photos!
Excellent work, we should run something again some time :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd be up for that, do you think Warhammer World be ok with us running a public game there?
DeleteI'm sure they'd be fine with that :-)
DeleteWow, this is an absolute piece of genius!! 8o
ReplyDeleteI love how you carried out all the details and yet managed to keep it simple and playable. Great!!
Nice to see some retro buildings on a great table. And thanks for posting up all the scenario details. Sounds like it would make a crazy game!
ReplyDeleteI think the combination of all the different races & various terrain features would make this an excellent game to play.
ReplyDeleteThanks for going to the trouble of posting up all the details.
Cheers :)
