Ok, I'll be honest, I've neglected this blog for the shiny lights of Facebook groups and Instagram for a while now, but I've come to the conclusion that it's all so transient and impermanent, so I'm thinking about getting back on here and posting a bit more often.
That does, however, beg the question, is anyone still on here? I can post all I like, but if no one actually sees it, I may as well just print out a scrapbook and read it at home!
So, what have I been up to? I've been learning 3d sculpting, printing big things and doing more Altheim buildings mostly, with some ww2 and Trench Crusade in there as well, with a few commissions along the way. I've actually been pretty productive in the last year or so, So here's a few bits I've got done recently:
Happy to see you black. Allways willing to read RT and WHFB related posts.
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% about social media and started my own oldhammer blog a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteI am now following you.
"Altheim" I know that name I am sure?
Love the Imperial Robot, that is a blast from the past!!
Townscape and village/town life is where you have me though.
The townscape recreations are superb.
All hand done, or do I spy a few 3d printed elements?
The Zircus is excellent, I assume there is a snake charmer in there somewhere playing music to a python called Montgomery?
Great stuff, off to peruse your older stuff now!!
Altheim is my WFB/Mordheim table, complete with inhabitants and background stories that I've been working on for a loooong time now. The vast majority of the buildings are scratchbuilt but there are a few 3d printed elements such as windows etc (and I've just designed and printed some chimneys!)
DeleteI love the blog post format so much more. Far superior in terms of curation. Unfortunately it takes more effort to create AND consume. Our poor attention spans are under assault everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking of ideas to try and bump up blogging again (if only temporarily). Maybe a challenge/pact where you need to match a friend's (all friends?) posts in some ratio? (I'll post at least once for every X you do)?
I’m still here for Altheim, IQ28 & Rogue Trader etc. content. Happy to hear of your possible return to regular blogging. Very good, carry on.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice pics! That dragon is particularly sexy. Um, as far as red dragons go.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if my comment ended up disappeared or in moderation. This is a test...
ReplyDeleteI had to set everything to moderated after a load of spam a while ago!
DeleteWhat a comeback post! Personally I view blogging as a hobby diary/record for myself. If anyone else reads/comments that's just a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your posts and seeing your cool pictures here! I never use those other sites you mentioned anymore.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think the comments suggest that there are still plenty of people reading blogs, so I'm going to make the effort to post more on here.
DeleteOk, so what's the story with the giant Imperial Space Marine?
ReplyDeleteAh, you'll have to wait for that one! ;) I'll put him up soon.
DeleteGlad to have you back!
ReplyDeleteThere's some fantastic blogs that have gone quiet over the last couple of years, by in large I suspect due to the likes of Facebook and Instagram which are fun in their own way but as you say, pretty transient and there's not as much enjoyment of reading the more long form style of blogs where folks can ruminate about things in more depth.
"SpacecowSmith" Now that is a name I have not heard in a long time!
